Roberto Luongo Shuts Out Montreal
7 years agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo continued his excellent performance in a 5-0 beatdown of the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night. The 38-year-old earned the first star in the match, facing 40 shots and stopping all of them. The game marks the 13th win and second shutout of the season, which he has only played 24 games in due to injury. Luongo has and will continue to be the defensive solution for Florida, as the Panthers have clawed their way into the playoff hunt. The Canadian goaltender now maintains a 13-7-2 record this year with a 2.50 goals-against average and .930 save percentage. The Panthers return to action on Saturday night against the struggling New York Rangers.
