7 years agoBuffalo Sabres goalie Chad Johnson is stringing together several quality starts of late, most recently turning aside 38 of 41 shots faced in the Sabres’ win over the Maple Leafs on Monday. He now has wins in five of his last six starts, all of which have come against the three best teams in the Atlantic Division. During this surprise stretch, Johnson’s only sub-.925 save percentage was in the 5-3 win over the Lightning on Feb. 13. Given that Buffalo is in the basement in the standings, picking up Johnson would not come without sizable risk, but if you are in need of goalie starts, he may just be a dark horse.
