Walker Buehler Will See His Innings Increase
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers top pitching prospect Walker Buehler could see his workload increase to 140 to 150 innings this season. That's a big jump from the 88 2/3 innings he pitched in 2017 and indicates he will be primarily used as a starter. It's a remarkable turnaround that we're even talking about Buehler in the big leagues. He was drafted as the 24th overall pick by the Dodgers in 2015 but had Tommy John surgery almost immediately after that. His velocity actually jumped about 5 mph since the surgery, and he features three plus pitches. He was overmatched in his 2017 debut out of the Dodgers bullpen but looks to be one of the better stashes this season.
