Donovan Mitchell Drops 21 Points
7 years agoUtah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell had a decent scoring game despite his team getting blown out by the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. Mitchell scored 21 points, which included four three-pointers, and he added three rebounds and one steal. While the scoring was nice, Mitchell wasn't particularly efficient, making just eight of 20 shot attempts. This continues a troubling trend for Mitchell, whose field goal percentage has taken a nosedive recently. In his last eight games, Mitchell is shooting just 41 percent from the field. As a result, owners should monitor Mitchell's shooting down the stretch, as he may be hitting the infamous rookie wall. Mitchell will get a chance to end his shooting slump against the Dallas Mavericks and their 20th-ranked defense.

Donovan Mitchell Misses Second Straight Game Thursday
4 days agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (ankle) will not be in the lineup on Thursday against the Indiana Pacers, missing a second consecutive game. Cleveland's star man is nursing an ankle sprain, and the team has no reason to hurry his return since they have already clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference for the playoffs. Darius Garland (toe) will also take the night off, opening the door for Ty Jerome and Sam Merrill to lead the backcourt. Jerome will enter Thursday's contest with good momentum, having notched 38 points across two games since returning from a knee injury.

Donovan Mitchell Ruled Out Versus Chicago
7 days agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (ankle) won't play on Tuesday against the Bulls. The Cavs are looking to lock up the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately, the team will try to do it without their top scorer, who sprained his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Sacramento Kings. Of course, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley should get more involved on the offensive end. However, there's room for increased fantasy production from Ty Jerome and De'Andre Hunter, with the duo combining for 31 points on Sunday.

Donovan Mitchell Returning To Action Thursday
3 weeks agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (groin) is not listed on the injury report, indicating that he is ready to return to action on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs. Mitchell is managing a groin injury and sat out Tuesday's victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Sam Merrill, who had a decent showing with 14 points, two rebounds, and three assists. Recently, Mitchell has performed poorly, shooting only 33.3 percent from the field to average 20.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists this month.

Donovan Mitchell Unavailable Against Portland
3 weeks agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (groin) will not suit up for Tuesday's clash against the Portland Trail Blazers. He has been ruled out for groin injury management purposes. Ty Jerome, De'Andre Hunter, and Isaac Okoro are expected to fill larger roles with Mitchell unavailable. The latter started in Mitchell's place in back-to-back games when he was out earlier this month with a groin injury. However, Jerome and Hunter are definitely the better fantasy options, as Okoro struggles to fill the stat sheet even if he logs 30-plus minutes.
