Royals Looking To Find At-Bats For Jorge Soler, Cheslor Cuthbert, Jorge Bonifacio
7 years agoThe Kansas City Royals are focusing on finding a way for outfielders Jorge Soler, Cheslor Cuthbert and Jorge Bonifacio to each get 500-plus at-bats in 2018, according to manager Ned Yost. Yost also said Soler could see time at designated hitter and both corner outfield spots. On a rebuilding club that lost their best outfielder (Lorenzo Cain) to free agency, this could be possible. Soler has the best physical skills and most fantasy upside, but the former top prospect hit only .144 with two home runs and six RBI in his 35 games with the Royals in 2017 and spent most of his season in the minors. The 26-year-old still has plenty of power potential, but he needs to refine his approach at the plate and make more contact in order for him to capitalize as a post-hype sleeper. The opportunity will be there, though.
