7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell said catcher Stephen Vogt isn't guaranteed a spot on the Opening Day roster over catchers Manny Pina and Jett Bandy. "Stephen, we brought him back, signed him to a contract, but I think he's got something to prove, and that will be part of his camp," Counsell said. Pina and Bandy are also both out of minor league options, which could play a big part. Vogt was an All-Star in 2015 and 2016 with the A's, but he shared playing time with Milwaukee and hit just .233 with 12 home runs and 40 RBI in 99 games in 2017. Even if he earns a spot, he'll play second fiddle to Pina behind the dish.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
