AJ McCarron Wins Grievance, Will be a Free Agent
7 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron won his grievance against the Bengals and will be a free agent this offseason. McCarron was placed on the NFI (non-football injury) list in 2014 after suffering a shoulder injury that the Bengals determined did not happen at practice. This meant McCarron was set to be a restricted free agent. He filed a grievance last year saying he should be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and will now get that wish granted. Now, McCarron will join a free-agent class that includes quarterbacks Kirk Cousins and Drew Brees -- although Brees is fully expect to re-sign in New Orleans. McCarron will be one of the more sought-after QB upgrades this offseason. If he finds himself in a starting role, he could hold sneaky fantasy value next season, depending on where he lands.
