Carmelo Anthony And Russell Westbrook Out Thursday
Carmelo Anthony (ankle) and point guard Russell Westbrook (ankle) will not play Thursday night against the Los Angeles Lakers. Neither injury is considered serious, so they both will get more rest. The Thunder have not announced replacement starters, but most likely starting at point guard will be Raymond Felton. The Thunder are likely to go with either Jerami Grant or Patrick Patterson at the forward position.

Carmelo Anthony To Miss Thursday's Game
Carmelo Anthony (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Golden State Warriors. He'll join the big three on the sideline since the Lakers have clearly waved the white flag. Head coach Frank Vogel mentioned that all of these players could be available for Friday's contest. In the meantime, Malik Monk should have excellent streaming value. Also, Stanley Johnson and Wenyen Gabriel should see significant minutes on Thursday. Gabriel has shown solid flashes whenever he gets significant playing time.

Carmelo Anthony Probable For Sunday
Carmelo Anthony (illness) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Denver Nuggets. The veteran forward was forced to sit out during their last contest due to a non-COVID related illness. His absence allowed more playing time for Malik Monk and Stanley Johnson. They'd once again be asked to step up, assuming Anthony sits out. Otherwise, they'd all split up the playing time with Anthony returning, but he has been too inconsistent to trust in fantasy leagues right now.

Carmelo Anthony Pours In 20 Points Off Bench In Defeat
Carmelo Anthony led all bench scorers during Tuesday's loss to Dallas with 20 points across 31 minutes. In three games since returning from a hamstring ailment, Anthony has combined for 51 points on 50% shooting, including going 40% from behind the arc. Without Anthony Davis (ankle) available for at least two more weeks, Anthony stands to have elevated offensive upside. He remains L.A.'s clear top scoring threat on the second unit, having recently enjoyed a spate of steals with five in his last three contests. His next outing comes Thursday vs. the Clippers, whom he has combined to shoot 8-for-14 from behind the arc against this year, making him a solid DFS option at his current price range.

Carmelo Anthony Will Play Friday
Carmelo Anthony (hamstring) will return to the court for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He has missed each of the last five games, but will return here. Anthony should see an increased role with Anthony Davis (foot) sidelined. It doesn't sound like the Lakers are planning on limiting Anthony during Friday's game. That means, fantasy managers should check the waiver wire and see if Anthony is available. He'll be worth a look as a fantasy option with Davis sidelined for the next few weeks.
