Browns Hire One Assistant Coach, Fire Another
7 years agoThe Cleveland Browns were busy on Friday. They announced former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Ken Zampese as their new quarterbacks coach. The Bengals fired Zampese after Week 2 of the past season. Zampese will almost certainly be getting a highly regarded quarterback prospect to groom, as Cleveland is expected to take one with either the first overall or fourth overall pick in this year's NFL draft. The team also announced that it has hired Adam Henry as their new wide receivers coach and fired running backs coach Kirby Wilson. Despite having a highly-rated offensive line, Wilson failed to get much out of running backs Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson this past season. No announcement regarding who might serve as Wilson's replacement has been made. This caps off a busy week, which has seen the team part ways with at least four other assistant coaches, including long-time special teams coordinator Chris Tabor, who left for the same position with the Chicago Bears.
