It's Week 13 – we're inching closer and closer to playoffs and the injuries keep piling up around the league. With injuries, come more opportunity and the waiver wire is flowing powerfully right now. Here are some interesting adds that can help you deal with them or get an edge on your opponents.
This year, we're tossing out our old convention of separating waiver wire posts into positions, and instead, we're separating them into of league -- standard, shallow, deep, etc. The NBA is trending to positionless basketball, so we at RotoBaller should too.
For shallow (8-10 team) league adds, we use a general rule of thumb of an ownership rate of under 65% on Yahoo. All position eligibility based on Yahoo leagues.

Shallow League Adds for Week 13
Trey Lyles, PF
Ownership: 51%
10.4 PPG / 4.9 REB / 0.9 AST / .531 FG%
Don't let those pedestrian averages fool you, Trey Lyles could be the best player available on your waivers. With only about half of yahoo leagues owning him on a roster, there is a good chance he may still be available in your league. He's had ample opportunity to produce for the Nuggets after Paul Millsap (wrist) went down with an injury and he's been a treat to fantasy owners thus far.
In the past 30 days, he's averaged 17.4 PPG, 7.2 REB, 2.6 3PM and .576 FG%. He's increased across the board from his output in the beginning of the season and is positioned to do the same until Millsap returns from injury. So far, it seems Millsap should be returning to action around the all star break, so until then he is a must add if you are in need of scoring, rebounding and threes.
De'Aaron Fox, PG
Ownership: 51%
9.9 PPG / 2.8 REB / 3.8 AST / .408 FG%
The Kings are almost dead last in the West, so it wasn't a surprise that they were extremely patient bringing back Fox from his injury. Before his injury, his numbers were wildly inconsistent as I'm sure he was getting accustomed to the league. The time off must have helped as he has been a more reliable contributor in his three games back. It should be noted that George Hill has also missed the last two games for personal reasons, but nonetheless the Kings may be looking to develop their younger talent as they prepare for their inevitable lottery pick.
Since returning, Fox has averaged 17.5 PPG, 5.5 AST, 1.0 STL and .478 FG%. While this may not be a consistent output from him, he has looked great running the Kings offense in the new year and may have more opportunity to showcase his talents as the season goes on. If you are in need of assists and scoring, De'Aaron Fox may be just what you are looking for.
Terry Rozier, PG
Ownership 29%
9.3PPG/ 2.0 AST / 4.4 REB / .400 FG%
This isn't your prototypical point guard, so if you are in need of a guard who gets you assists, this waiver pick up may not be for you. Although, if you are looking for a guard who can contribute with points, rebounds and threes, this is your guy. Rozier doesn't seem to be the conventional add in shallow leagues with around 23 MPG, but he is worth a look as he has been very consistent as of late.
In the past 14 days, he's averaging 13.4 PPG, 5.3 REB, 2.4 3PM and shooting a respective .545 FG% and .833 FT% from the field. Rozier will probably be a riskier long term add to your term as he could regress as the season goes on, but he is definitely worth streaming if you are looking for an extra boost in points, rebounds and threes.
