Dede Westbrook Hopes To Bounce Back Against Tough Bills Secondary
7 years agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook will look to atone for dropping a surefire touchdown last week when the Jaguars take on the Bills in the AFC Wild-Card round. Westbrook let a perfect deep ball slip through his fingers last week and finished the game with only one reception for nine yards. This week he will take on a Bills defense that has allowed the sixth fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. Westbrook has put up at least 70 receiving yards in three of his last five games, and the rookie has emerged to be a playmaker in the inconsistent Jaguars offense. But the Jaguars will look to run the football as often as possible, and Westbrook's targets may suffer because of it. Westbrook is a WR4 dart throw in fantasy this weekend.

Dede Westbrook Working Out With Vikings
3 years agoFree-agent wide receiver and return specialist Dede Westbrook is working out for the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday. The 28-year-old played four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before landing with the Vikings last year, where he totaled 68 receiving yards on 10 catches. He also returned 22 punts for 183 yards, and it seems that would be his primary role if Minnesota were to bring him back. Ian Rapoport reported that a few other teams are also interested in Westbrook and that he is expected to sign somewhere in the coming days. His last notable year as a receiver came in 2019 when he cleared 100 targets (101) with 66 catches for 660 yards and three scores as a Jaguar. He would only have fantasy value if he lands somewhere as at least the third receiving option, which would not be the case in Minnesota behind wide receivers Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and K.J. Osborn.

Dede Westbrook Inactive Sunday Night
3 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Dede Westbrook (ankle) is officially inactive on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys after coming into the Week 8 contest with a questionable tag. Westbrook has been far from the fantasy radar this season, as he has only seven receptions on nine targets for 59 yards in six games played for Minnesota. Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and K.J. Osborn will remain the team's top three pass-catchers in the Sunday night matchup with Dallas. Rookie Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Dan Chisena will battle for snaps as the No. 4 wideout with Westbrook out of action this week.
