ANALYSIS: A graph of Kenny Golladay's fantasy relevance this season would trend about as straight downward as humanly possible, as the rookie wide receiver followed up his 69 yard, two touchdown game in Week 1 with two duds and four weeks spent inactive as he labored through a hamstring injury. Golladay was expected to be back in Week 8 but suffered a setback at practice on Wednesday and was shut down.
Assuming Golladay is able to return for Week 9, he will slide in as the Lions No. 4 receiver behind Golden Tate, Marvin Jones and TJ Jones. However, the Lions have put the ball in the air plenty of times this season and Matthew Stafford is no stranger to sharing the wealth.
Even though it feels like forever since the Kenny Golladay hype train was stationed, there is still a lot to like about the dynamic rookie receiver. Any given week a healthy Golladay is capable of ripping off a big play, making him a boom-or-bust flex play in deeper fantasy formats.
His floor is virtually zero, but there is reason to believe that Golladay could have more games like he did in Week 1. Fantasy owners who like taking risks should consider Golladay for their roster and their flex spot against defenses prone to giving up the big play.
