ANALYSIS: With rookies Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz expected to run the point in Philadelphia this year, Jerryd Bayless was nothing more than an afterthought on draft day. However, Brett Brown has chosen to play Simmons alongside two other guards, and Fultz is battling a shoulder injury that could keep him out for an extended period of time. As a result, Bayless has seen 30 minutes a game over the team’s first six contests, averaging 11.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists. The 29-year-old likely won’t make a large contribution in any one category, but extended playing time will allow him to produce a little bit across the board. Consider Bayless a viable option in deeper formats while Fultz remains sidelined.
