ANALYSIS: The season ending injury sustained by rookie Dalvin Cook opened up the door for both Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon to compete for touches in the Vikings offense. A lingering ankle injury to Murray gave McKinnon an increased role over the last few weeks, but Murray exploded back onto the scene in Week 7, putting up 113 yards and a touchdown across 18 carries, four more than McKinnon. McKinnon was still the go-to target in the passing game, but Murray's big game makes him a hot commodity heading into a Week 8 matchup against the hapless Cleveland Browns. PPR leagues should temper expectations for Murray, as McKinnon's value in the passing game limits Murray's upside. However, in deeper non-PPR formats, Murray is primed for a big game once again in Week 8.
