FanDuel Quarterback - Week 6 DFS Picks
Alex Smith (vs. PIT, $7,500)
The Steelers don’t look like a positive matchup by yards allowed per game or per attempt to this point in the season. However, they have faced DeShone Kizer, Case Keenum, Mike Glennon, Joe Flacco, and Blake Bortles. In other words, they face their first real test this week as far as opposing quarterbacks. Meanwhile, Alex Smith has done nothing but take care of his business this season, posting near career bests across the board and as a result he has hit 3X his $7,500 price tag three times this season.
Jameis Winston (@ ARI, $7,800)
After the Week 5 drubbing at the hands of the Eagles, the Cardinals have allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw four touchdowns against them twice this season. Meanwhile, Winston has increased his efficiency this season and has combined that with being on pace for over 600 pass attempts. The Bucs had a long week to prepare the Cardinals, so should be prepared for this matchup.
FanDuel Running Backs - Week 6 DFS Picks
CJ Anderson (vs. NYG, $7,000)
The Giants have a reputation as a stout defense, but that is only true for the pass defense. Contrarily, they have allowed several backs to gouge them, including a monstrous game for Melvin Gordon last week, 108 total yards to Jacquizz Rodgers, 138 combined yards to LaGarrette Blount and Wendell Smallwood, and 86 rushing yards to Ameer Abdullah. The Giants’ offense also makes Anderson an attractive option this weekend, as they will be without their top three receivers, making it reasonable to wonder how the Giants will string together any type of offensive drive. Meanwhile, C.J. Anderson has received 20 or more carries this season in three of four games and he should be relied on to grind down the clock this Sunday. It has been made clear that there is no plan for Jamaal Charles to receive more carries so even with Devontae Booker back in action, Anderson should receive enough carries to to be a valuable fantasy asset.
Leonard Fournette (vs. LAR, $8,600)
Fournette provides an excellent floor for fantasy owners, as he has gotten over 20 carries in three of five Jaguars’ games this season. He is also their go to option on the goal line, and that matches nicely with a Rams’ defense that has allowed seven rushing touchdowns this season, most in the league.
FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 6 DFS Picks
Jamison Crowder (vs. SF, $6,100)
Crowder has been a major disappointment this season, averaging only 7.6 yards per reception this season. However, Week 6 could be his breakout. For one, Crowder has been battling a hamstring injury throughout the early portions of the season, however, that has reportedly greatly improved thanks to the team’s bye week. Additionally, Jay Gruden has commented this week that he would like to get Jamison Crowder more involved with the offense. If that happens, Crowder should be able to take advantage of an overmatched 49ers defense, giving him plenty of opportunity to perform well this week.
Julio Jones (vs. MIA, $9,200)
The Falcons had two weeks to stew about their performance in their Week 4 loss to the Bills and the Dolphins have allowed big time numbers to the likes of Michael Thomas and Robby Anderson. Not that targets were ever a concern for Jones, but with Mohamed Sanu out, Jones should be peppered with targets both inside and outside the red zone. That makes both opportunity and matchup a positive for Jones, a recipe for a big performance from him.
FanDuel Tight End - Week 6 DFS Pick
Austin Hooper (vs. MIA, $4,800)
I’ve been adamant this season that Hooper is overrated because he isn’t involved enough in the offense. However, Mohamed Sanu’s absence frees up at least six targets, reasonably leaves Hooper with a floor of at least 5-6 targets. In the absence of both Sanu and Julio Jones for for a large portion of the Bills game, Hooper was targeted seven times, indicating a willingness from the Falcons to involve him in the offense when needed. For a near minimum price, Hooper is worth a chance this weekend.
FanDuel Defense - Week 6 DFS Pick
Denver Broncos (vs. NYG, $5,400)
This pick should jump out and slap fantasy owners in the face this week and sometimes it’s not worth overthinking things. The Giants just lost their top three wide receivers, have struggled along the offensive line the entire season, and now travel to face one of the toughest defenses in a very tough road environment in a primetime game. This one checks all the boxes for a strong matchup against a helpless offense.
