ANALYSIS: The New York Giants are in complete shambles as a team and very much so in terms of fantasy football assets. After all, Odell Beckham was lost for the year, as was Brandon Marshall. Fellow wideout Dwayne Harris broke his foot, and that leaves an injured Sterling Shepard in the receiving corps. This is where Wayne Gallman comes in. The rookie out of Clemson has taken some positive steps the past two weeks as he sees added playing time and he figures to be a strong option as the team’s number one running back.
Despite the fact that he split touches with Orleans Darkwa this past week, the 23-year-old made better plays, rushing for 57 yards and gaining an additional 25 through the air. Gallman appears to be a spark plug which the Giants will desperately need as they move forward sans their offensive superstar. The one thing to be weary about for Gallman is his next game, as New York will travel to Denver for a matchup with the Broncos.
After that, however, they play a Seattle Seahawks squad that has struggled against the run, followed by a Rams team that has done the same. Gallman may not currently be a number one or two running back option, but in +12 team leagues, he may be a solid contributor in the coming weeks.
