ANALYSIS: Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins followed up his nice Week 4 (four receptions for 46 yards) with an even better Week 5, hauling in six catches for 29 yards and a touchdown. He has now been targeted 12 times in his last two games, having hauled in 10 of them for a total of 75 yards. Last week's opponent, the Cleveland Browns, surrender the most fantasy points to tight ends which makes his performance seem a bit less impressive. However, ASJ has the benefit of squaring off against the New England Patriots in Week 6, who have given up the fourth most points to opposing tight ends.
At a position that is seemingly more scarce than usual, Seferian-Jenkins offers a solid floor as a heavily targeted tight end facing a weak opposing defense. With the Jets likely to play from behind in the second half, Jenkins should see his fair share of check down passes toward the end of the game, making him worth a start in deeper formats. At the very least, he should be owned as a solid TE2 in most formats.
