ANALYSIS: After being overhyped during the summer of 2016, Fleener was a consensus top 7 TE in drafts a season ago. Having a disappointing season that saw him finish 14th among TEs, fantasy owners have approached the Saints TE with caution.
Late in August, however, news broke that slot receiver Willie Snead was slapped with a three-game suspension that vacated a lot of targets in the middle of the field. Enter Coby Fleener, now with a full year in Sean Payton's offense, who started the year off with a top 5 TE finish. Fleener led the Saints in receiving with five catches for 54 yards and Drew Brees's lone touchdown in Week 1. For at least as long as Snead is out, Fleener will be a back end TE1, if not better.
