DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider
Chris Archer, TAM @ STL (DK - $12,300, FD - $10,100)
Archer has put up two consecutive games with 10 strikeouts and has put up eight or more strikeouts in four of his last six starts. He is as consistent as they come right now, and he is in a good pitchers park. He is up against the Cardinals who have a 21.7% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers this season. Archer is a fantastic option for any format tonight, and is against a Cardinals offense who aren't the most threatening. They certainly have some power, but overall, they aren't a top offense on the slate.
Tanner Roark, WAS vs NYM (DK - $7,800, FD - $7,800)
Roark isn't the most consistent pitcher, and seems to let down DFS players time and time again when he is in a good spot, but with risk, there can be reward. Roark is facing off against the Mets today, who simply put, do not have a great lineup. They have traded away many of their power bats, and with Conforto going out with an injury, their lineup takes yet another hit. The upside with Roark comes from the Mets weak lineup, and for the fact, he should be able to pick up the win, if the Nationals offense shows up.
DFS Infielders to Consider
Alex Avila - C, CHC @ PHI (DK - $3,600, FD - $2,900)
Always like to roster Avila when he is up against a right-handed pitcher, since he hits them so well. He has a .393 wOBA and a .231 ISO vs RHP. For a player that is under $3K on FanDuel, he is almost an auto lock. The Cubs offense is powerful, and getting this kind of exposure to it, with his power upside is never a bad thing.
Chris Davis - 1B, BAL @ BOS (DK - $4,200, FD - $3,800)
Davis has a .334 wOBA and a .264 ISO this season against right-handed pitchers, and he is in a great spot today. Not only is Davis at a great hitters park, but he is facing a pitcher who is giving up a .376 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season. That is truly terrible, and Davis has legit power and upside to go deep multiple times per game. Great GPP play today.
Daniel Murphy - 2B, WAS vs NYM (DK - $4,600, FD - $3,000)
Murphy is way too cheap on FanDuel today, just too cheap. Yes, he has been struggling lately, but he still has a .375 wOBA and a .200 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers. He might not be worth the salary on DraftKings, but for his price on FanDuel, and the added bonus of the revenge factor against his former team, he is a really good play on FanDuel today.
Jorge Polanco - 3B, MIN @ TOR (DK - $4,800, FD - $3,600)
Polanco has been on an absolute tear so far this August. He has a .453 wOBA and a .275 ISO against all pitchers. Polanco has four home runs over his last seven games, and has hits in 10 of his last 11 games. He is getting it done against everyone, and in a hitter friendly park, he is a great play in any format today.
Tim Beckham - SS, BAL @ BOS (DK - $4,600, FD - $3,600)
Beckham has hits in 10 of his last 11 games, and six home runs this month. He seemingly got a boost after being traded to Baltimore, and he has been lighting it up. Baltimore have put up a lot of runs the first two games of this series vs the Red Sox, so why not put him in a stack, when they are at a great hitters park.
DFS Outfielders to Consider
Chris Young - OF, BOS vs BAL (DK - $3,200, FD - $2,700)
Young usually gets the start when the Red Sox are facing a left-handed pitcher, for the platoon advantage. Young brings a good amount of salary relief to your lineup, and is up against a pitcher who is giving up a .367 wOBA to right-handed hitters. At home in a good hitters park, he is playable in all formats tonight.
Ben Zobrist - OF, CHC @ PHI (DK - $3,600, FD - $3,300)
Zobrist is always an interesting option in DFS, simply for the fact you don't know where he will be batting in the lineup. He has hit in every spot this year except seventh. So he can be all over, but getting him on the road, brings a nice positive park shift, and some exposure tot he Cubs powerful offense. He has hits in five of his last six games, including five runs batted in.
Nelson Cruz - OF, SEA @ NYY (DK - $4,400, FD - $4,100)
Cruz gets a massive positive park shift being at Yankee stadium, and has the power to put multiple home runs out. He has a .389 wOBA and a .290 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching. He had a hot start to August, and has since cooled off, but the upside is huge for him today.
