Offensive Stacks
Los Angeles Dodgers vs Bronson Arroyo
Arroyo isn't a good pitcher, and frankly I'm shocked he is still on a major league roster. Doesn't help him, that this game is in Cincinnati, one of the best hitters parks in the league. Arroyo has given up 13 earned runs over his last two starts, and hasn't lasted past the sixth inning in any start this season. Load up on Dodgers bats in any way you see fit. Hitters one through eight are in play, and great in any format.
New York Yankees vs Jharel Cotton
The Yankees have been on a slide this past week, and they need a win. Facing off against Cotton today, this is the spot for their offense to get back going in the right direction. Cotton has given up nine earned runs over his last two starts, and all though this may be a pitchers park, the Yankees have plenty of power. This could be a bit of a sneaky stack, considering this is a full slate, and they have been struggling. Could get them lowered owned, and help you take down a GPP.
FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Robbie Ray - P, @ PHI ($11,000)
Ray is having a very strong season, and he is on a bit of a hot streak lately. He has five straight games over 51 FanDuel points, only allowing 1 ER over those five games. Elite level numbers for the Diamondback, who is pushing his name onto the short list for early NL CY Young candidates. He has nine or more strikeouts in four of his last five games, and he has pitched into the seventh inning or later in each game. He is a great cash game option, and those are the type of numbers you want to see from a pitcher you will be spending up on. Ray is up against the Phillies who have a 20% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitching, which is in the middle of the league, but overall their offense is weak, so this is a prime spot for him.
Jason Vargas - P, @ LAA ($8,700)
Vargas had a hot start to the season, then he fell off a bit, and now he seems to be back on track. He has four straight wins, and has only allowed five earned runs over those four games. He is at the Angels, which is a great pitchers park. Although the Angels have a decent strikeout rate vs right-handed pitching this season, they don't have one of the better offenses in the league, so Vargas should be able to limit the damage. He isn't a sure fire cash game option, but he is worth a look if you want to spend down a bit, so you can fit some higher priced bats into your lineup.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Austin Romine - C, @ OAK ($2,000)
If you are a fan of spending down at catcher, as a lot of DFS players are, then this is the spot for you. Gary Sanchez, has a minor groin injury, and Romine has taken over the starting job in the mean time. Romine is minimum salary on FanDuel, and gives you some exposure to the Yankees offense. Almost a pure salary relief play here.
Justin Smoak - 1B, vs CWS ($3,700)
The Smoak monster is always a threat to go deep, and that means he is always a good DFS play. This season he has really strong numbers vs right-handed pitching. He has a .379 wOBA and a .314 ISO. He makes a great cash game play, or as a one off in tournaments due to his home run upside.
Daniel Descalso - 2B, @ PHI ($2,400)
Descalso is usually platooned vs right-handed pitching for Arizona, and if he draws the start at second base, he is a nice play today. He is almost minimum salary, gives you exposure to the always powerful Diamondbacks offense, and leaves you some salary to spend elsewhere. He isn't a total punt play, but he is best used in a stack vs the Phillies.
Travis Shaw - 3B, vs SDP ($3,800)
Love me some Travis Shaw, especially vs right-handed pitching this season, who he has been crushing against. He has a .3967 wOBA and a .253 ISO vs RHP. Really strong numbers this season, and is great if used in cash games, or tournaments. A Brewers stack is always a good option, as they play in a favorable hitters park, and have plenty of home run upside.
Tim Beckham - SS, @ DET ($3,200)
Beckham is a bit of a reverse splits hitter this season. He has a .344 wOBA and a .205 ISO vs right-handed pitching and he is a righty batter. Beckham has five multi hit games over his last ten, and is facing a pitcher, Buck Farmer, who many people believe isn't going to last in the majors, and is great to stack against.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Kevin Pillar - OF, vs CWS ($2,900)
A lead off hitter for under $3K, in a powerful offense? Yes please. The Blue Jays have turned around their poor start, and are starting to hit the ball well. Pillar is usually the lead off hitter for them, so he brings good stolen base upside, he has 1o SB for the year, and gives you a bit of salary relief on this full slate. His wOBA is only .289 vs RHP this season, so he makes a better option for a stack compared to cash games.
Corey Dickerson - OF, @ DET ($3,800)
If you are looking for a hitter who has a chance of going deep today, look no further. Dickerson has a .402 wOBA and a .291 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching. He is at Detroit today, which is a middle of the road hitters park, but there should be some strong winds in this game, which can be beneficial for hitters.
George Springer - OF, vs BOS ($4,100)
Springer's numbers this year vs left-handed pitching are just silly. He has a .489 wOBA and a .407 ISO. Unbelievable numbers, and is always a threat to go deep. At home in a hitters park vs a lefty pitcher, there is no better spot than this for him. If you are playing the all day slate, he is a great option to give you that late night boost in points.
