DraftKings Lineup Picks & Sleepers (5/7/17): MLB DFS Advice

This Sunday has a full slate of games, so it's time to build some lineups. With several different contests being offered on DraftKings, you'll have lots of different lineup options. For our purposes, the following picks have been made for contests running all day.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/7/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings.

You can read our FanDuel and Yahoo DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @TroyKlauder.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Seattle Mariners vs. Andrew Cashner (RHP)

Andrew Cashner's got to have one of the luckiest 2.95 ERAs in recent history, but that's the kind of stuff that happens in a 21 1/3 inning sample size. Cashner has pitched awfully in his four starts, despite the results, as he has a 5.85 FIP and 6.41 xFIP, two figures that show he's been extremely lucky. Cashner has a higher BB/9, at 6.75, than he does a K/9 at 4.22. He was a 5.25 ERA pitcher last season and if anything has only gotten worse. Mariners studs like Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz are going to tee off, while value plays like Jarrod Dyson and Ben Gamel are plays that will pay off nicely.

New York Mets vs. Jose Urena (RHP)

In his 83 1/3 innings last year, Jose Urena put up a 6.13 ERA, making him a prime target on Sunday. Urena has worked only as a reliever this year, and is now filling in for Edinson Volquez, so Urena won't be able to pitch very deep into his start. This means that the Marlins will have to deploy a slew of relievers throughout the game, so the Mets will see some of their worst pitchers on the staff (even though Urena probably is already!). Michael Conforto is a great play, along with Jay Bruce and Neil Walker. Any Met you get in your lineup should have a productive day.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Alex Cobb, TB vs. TOR - $7,700

If you're looking for some strong innings for cheap on Sunday, Cobb is your guy as he takes on the Blue Jays. Toronto has been one of the worst lineups in baseball this year, coming in 27th in wOBA versus righties with a .289 mark. They are still without key hitters in Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki, making them an even easier target. Rolling with Cobb the day before those two are set to return is like a last-minute Black Friday deal. Cobb doesn't put up big strikeout numbers, but has a good 3.86 ERA and threw six scoreless innings against the Marlins his last time out. Just like last time out, he's at home at the pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field. At his price, Cobb is a great way to bank some safe points while spending on big bats.

Tyler Glasnow, PIT vs. MIL - $7,400

In contrast to Cobb, Glasnow is one of the riskiest plays on Sunday, but has massive upside. Glasnow has a 9.58 K/9 on the year, and the Brewers have a 25.0 K% against righties, the third highest rate in the league. This means that Glasnow could put up huge strikeout numbers on Sunday and get you a ton of points. The Brewers lineup is above average with their .321 wOBA against right-handers, but they will be away from their hitter's paradise at Miller Park, instead playing at PNC Park, a venue that favors pitchers. Glasnow does come with some clear risk, though, as the volatile 23-year-old has a 6.97 ERA and 7.40 BB/9. But at his low price, there's so much room for profit that he's a great pitcher to consider on Sunday.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Dustin Garneau, COL vs. ARI - $3,500

For playing at Coors Field, Justin Morneau's alter-ego Dustin Garneau is insanely cheap at his $3,500 price. That's probably because he's hitting just .218, but at Coors Field even the worst of hitters can have a productive day. DBacks pitcher Taijuan Walker has been known for his home run issues, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Garneau and other Rockies pop a few off of him. In such a high-scoring run environment, it's hard to ignore Garneau.

First Base (1B)

Brandon Belt, SF @ CIN - $4,200

For the type of year Brandon Belt has had so far, it seems almost disrespectful that his price isn't any higher. Belt has an .845 OPS and has taken an insane amount of walks with his 18.3 BB%. He's rocking a 131 wRC+ and is playing in one of the best hitter's parks in the league on Sunday, Great American Ballpark. His opponent, Scott Feldman is not one of the best pitchers and wouldn't be starting in the majors if it weren't for the tanking Reds. Feldman has a 4.83 ERA and Belt will be batting second against him, a great spot for runs and RBI.

Second Base (2B)

Cesar Hernandez, PHI vs. WAS- $3,600

While Belt's price is low for his skill level, Cesar Hernandez's is even more egregious at $3,600. He hasa .333/.380/.508 line along with four homers and four steals. He's been an incredibly valuable fantasy player this year, and is leading off for the Phillies against Nationals starter Tanner Roark. Roark is nothing special, with a 4.04 ERA, but his low 7.32 K/9 is great for Hernandez, who will easily be able to get the ball in play. As a leadoff hitter, Hernandez will have more plate appearances than anybody else, and will be in a great spot to score when he gets on base in the hitter-friendly confines of Citizens Bank Park. It's a great idea to take advantage of Hernandez's price on Sunday, as it shouldn't be this low for much longer.

Shortstop (SS)

Aledmys Diaz, STL @ ATL - $3,800

Aledmys Diaz enters Sunday scorching hot, with a 1.085 OPS in the last seven days and three or more hits in each of his last three games. This should continue against R.A. Dickey, the 42-year-old still barely hanging on with a 3.94 ERA. His underlying stats are far worse, though, as he has a 5.90 FIP due to his 5.76 K/9 and 3.94 BB/9. Hitting fifth against Dickey puts Diaz in a great RBI position. With this low of a price, you can ride the wave with Diaz and watch him pay off.

Third Base (3B)

Mike Moustakas, KC vs. CLE - $3,600

In case you haven't caught on, taking hitters who are producing yet still have a low price is a surefire way to get value out of your DFS lineups. That's why we're targeting Mike Moustakas on Sunday, coming in at just $3,600. Moose is a huge power guy, as he's got seven homers with a .525 SLG this year. His opposing pitcher, Trevor Bauer, has been getting wrecked by the long-ball this year, as he's got a ridiculous 2.00 HR/9 and 7.67 ERA. Moustakas is a layup of a pick at third base, and batting second in the Royals order makes it even easier to pick him.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Andrew Toles, LAD @ SD - $3,200

Standing at 5-foot-10, Andrew Toles may be easy to overlook, but the Dodgers leadoff hitter is a fantastic value on Sunday. Toles has put up a respectable 107 wRC+ this year and has socked five homers, showing great power for a leadoff man. He can score lots of runs with the Dodgers lineup behind him, and his .264 average should be on the rise, as it's being dragged down by his .269 BABIP. Against right-handed pitching, you can count on Toles to produce.

Adam Duvall, CIN vs. SF - $4,000

Regardless of your overall opinion on Adam Duvall as a player, it's undeniable that's he's got legit power, hitting eight dingers so far already after hitting 33 last year. It's so easy for him to crush in Cincinnati, and he's got a .440 average and a 1.321 OPS in the six games on this homestand. You may not consider Johnny Cueto to be an ideal matchup, but he's given up a lot of homers this year with a 1.46 HR/9 and isn't striking out batters at the same frequency he used to, with a K-rate down to 7.30. Duvall is a great contrarian play against those who are scared off by Cueto's name and aren't aware of how he's struggled this year.

Josh Reddick, HOU @ LAA - $3,200

Josh Reddick is one of the top value plays on Sunday, as even with a 123 wRC+ this season, he's coming in at a super low price. Reddick bats second in the Astros lineup, who have been the third best lineup in the league against righties with a .349 wOBA. Well, a since he's a very good hitter batting second in a very good lineup, he must have a very bad matchup, right? Nope, he's facing Matt Shoemaker, who's getting owned this season with a 4.78 ERA. It feels too good to be true, but Reddick is the real deal, so cash in on him.
