BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues, Monitor in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 20% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: It took a pair of two-HR, four-RBI games to get our attention, but Trey Mancini is now on the fantasy radar. He barely saw the field the first week of April, but has been in at DH most nights since his last big performance. That's the problem right now with Mancini - he only qualifies as Utility player in Yahoo! He has made five appearances in the outfield, so he should gain OF eligibility fairly soon if he hasn't already in your league's format.
The other question about Mancini is his lack of experience, as owners are understandably hesitant to jump on a player with such a small sample size. Although he only has 56 Major League plate appearances, Mancini is hitting it out of the park once every 6.6 at-bats thanks to an insanely high 47.1% HR/FB rate. The power surge won't keep up at that clip (he's no Eric Thames), but Mancini did hit at least 20 HR the last two minor league seasons. Furthermore, he averaged .306 in four MiLB seasons with an 18% strikeout rate, so we're not looking at an all-or-nothing slugger. In a potent Baltimore lineup, Mancini could contribute in multiple categories and is looking like a solid waiver add, as long as you have a Utility or bench spot free.
