DraftKings DFS Guards
Damian Lillard - PG, vs LAL ($8,600)
Back from injury, Damian Lillard has dropped 20 or more points in eight of his last nine contests. The talented point guard has always been a scoring threat on the court and for daily fantasy, but has also been spreading stats generously in the assist and rebound categories. The Trail Blazers head into a favorable matchup against a Los Angeles Lakers squad that allows 110.5 points per game, fifth most in the league. Lillard should feast.
Dion Waiters - SG/SF, @ BK ($6,600)
In Tyler Johnson's absence the past two games, Dion Waiters broke out for 33 points in each, including the game-winning bucket from behind the arc against the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Waiters has been an inconsistent option for daily fantasy, but has seen a healthy jump in his price of late. Johnson is already expected to miss the team's next two games; good news for those looking to draft Waiters.
The Heat visit a Brooklyn Nets team that allow the most points per contest (114.8) and surrender 10.5 3PM per contest, fifth most in the league. Waiters has nailed 11 of 16 attempts from downtown over his last two.
Jerian Grant - PG, vs ATL ($3,800)
Jerian Grant is undoubtedly a risk based on his performances thus far, but has been practicing with the starters, and will likely be inserted into Chicago's starting five now that Michael Carter-Williams has again been ushered to a bench role. Rajon Rondo has also fallen from daily fantasy relevancy, creating an opportunity for Grant to produce. The Atlanta Hawks have also allowed the fourth most fantasy points to the point guard position this season.
Also consider: Russell Westbrook PG, @ NO ($12,800)
DraftKings DFS Forwards
LeBron James - SF, vs SAC ($10,000)
Somebody is pissed. After Monday night's loss to a New Orleans Pelicans squad that took the court without Anthony Davis, LeBron James expressed plenty of distaste, questioning the devotion of the Cleveland organization. In that loss, The King posted a triple-double (26 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds), and has now posted 60-plus fantasy points in two of three contests. LeBron has always been a triple-double flirt, and could very well explode against a Sacramento team that allows their fair share of fantasy points to the position.
Julius Randle - PF, @ POR ($6,700)
After exploding for most of December basketball, Julius Randle has now cooled down a bit. Once an automatic double-double, Randle has now failed to post one in over 10 games. Regardless, Randle is still a threat, with a price that is way too appealing to pass up on, especially given his matchup. The Lakers visit a Portland team that have relinquished the most fantasy points to power forwards. Expect this game to be high scoring.
Also consider: Jabari Parker SF/PF, vs PHI ($7,200)
DraftKings DFS Centers
Marc Gasol - C, vs TOR ($7,500)
Marc Gasol has been on quite the fantasy tear over his last four contests. Over that span, Gasol has posted four straight 40-plus fantasy point showings. He continues to lead the Memphis Grizzlies in scoring, but has already contributed from behind the arc, on the boards, while throwing crooked numbers in the assists, blocks, and steals categories as well. Gasol is way too cheap to overlook in a solid matchup against a Toronto Raptors squad that has struggled to defend centers all season. They allow the sixth most fantasy points to the position.
Greg Monroe - C, vs PHI ($4,700)
Whether Jason Kidd wants to give him a ton of minutes or not, Monroe's talent is undeniable. Unfortunately, he has been inconsistent, but now heads into a solid matchup against a Philadelphia 76ers squad that could take the court without the formidable Joel Embiid. Monroe is certainly a risk considering he has played under 20 minutes in three of his last four contests, but continues to provide a spark for Milwaukee off the bench.
