NBA DFS Risers/Fallers for Week 8

Player values are constantly moving targets in daily leagues. A high profile player can put together a couple of big games and see his price tag skyrocket. Likewise, a couple of bad games can lead a player's stock to plummet. The correlation isn't always immediate, leading to some discrepancies in value. Savvy DFS players can take advantage of falling values and avoid inflated prices to find the best value on a given night in the hopes of increased success. In this article, I will identify players whose anticipated value relative to their current price is on the rise, making them desirable targets. I will also name players whose value is dipping below their cost, making them players to fade.

Note: I will only be selecting players who are owned in at least 75% of Yahoo! leagues. Graphs are taken from SportingCharts.com's NBA Daily Fantasy Value Tracker and are indicative of values on 12/12/16.

Editor's Note: New users that sign up on FantasyAces, make a $20 deposit, and enter any game will receive BOTH our full season NBA and NFL Premium Passes for free, a $119.99 value. FanDuel Value Risers - Week 8

Paul Millsap (PF/C, ATL) - Millsap's hip injury cost him three games at the beginning of the month, but he has come back strong. Despite playing through some pain, Millsap keeps improving and put up one of his best games of the year last time out. He scored 23, collected 14 rebounds, three blocks and even chipped in six assists. It won't be long before his price comes back up to early year levels.

Thaddeus Young (SF/PF, IND) - Young's huge spike comes as a result of a stat-stuffing game against the Blazers on Saturday. Last night, he was back to lesser value with nine points and five boards only. Young has been a slightly risky option to roll out on any given night, but he is a forward with the potential to put up 30+ FD points.

Evan Fournier (SG/SF, ORL) - Fournier's miserable shooting performance at Detroit last week, followed by another lackluster game at Washington was part of a 13-for-41 four game stretch. This depressed his price tag, which naturally makes him a value play now that he is warming up again. Sure enough, he far outplayed his perceived value by going for 24-4-6 in 38 minutes against Denver. This is the time to make him a part of your lineup.

fournierdfs

Myles Turner (PF/C, IND) - Turner's value has depreciated to the point that any boost in point production would produce good ROI. Not that Turner has been disappointing in any way this season, it's just that he was far overpriced at the center position. His point and rebound totals have remained fairly consistent, but the blocks have been missing recently. After three straight games with a single swat, Turner has turned away seven shots in the last two games. Now that he is under $6K, make him a top option at the center position.

Steven Adams (C, OKC) - With all the rebounds Russell Westbrook is collecting, it's hard to believe there's much left for the big men. Adams has done his job, however, with 28 boards in the last three games. He went for 24 points against Houston and 16 against Boston with ridiculously good FG% in both. Take advantage of his recent offensive surge.

FanDuel Value Fallers - Week 8

DeMarcus Cousins (PF/C, SAC) - Boogie's offensive tear in late November, where he scored 30 or more points in four straight games, sent his value near the top of the list in daily leagues. Naturally, he has come down to Earth a bit since then, scoring just 16 on Saturday. He is still one of the top big men in the game, but it appears his hot streak is officially over.

cousinsdfs

Marcin Gortat (C, WAS) - Much like the Wizards as a whole, Gortat is beginning to disappoint despite immense talent. The rebounds are steady, but he has only scored in single digits each of the last four games and is shooting under .500 during that span. This funk shouldn't last long, potentially making him a riser in the coming weeks.

gortatdfs

Jeff Teague (PG, IND) - Teague has been somewhat of a disappointment all season. It may be strange that as his production remains the same, his price tag continues to climb. Maybe it's an expected boon in production, but it doesn't appear to be coming just yet. There are far better point guards for the money.

teaguedfs

Evan Turner (PG/SG, POR) - Turner overcame a slow start to get back in fantasy owners' good graces. Now, he is slumping again with a 3-for-10 and 2-for-8 performance in the last two weeks. He can be a stat stuffer at his best, but Turner simply hasn't found a groove in Portland.

turnerdfs

Jameer Nelson (PG, DEN) - Nelson's salary and production are clearly headed in opposite directions. The return of Will Barton makes Nelson less valuable, especially when Emmanuel Mudiay is also healthy and starting. Nelson had a nice run and represented a great value for stretches over the last couple of weeks, but that time may be over.
