Yahoo! Quarterback - Week 14 DFS Picks
Eli Manning (vs DAL, $30)
Eli has been up and down this season, but he's been solid at home and very good against weak passing defenses. At just $30, I like Manning as a solid value play this week against a suspect Cowboys secondary that has allowed the fourth most passing yards per game in the league at 276.3 yards per game. I expect Eli to near or surpass 300 yards with a couple of TD's this week and that would make him a solid play at his price point.
Colin Kaepernick (vs NYJ, $32)
Kaepernick burned me last week, but I trust the process and am not results orientated. That's why I'm back for more this week as Colin and the 49ers are the favorites against a terrible Jets team in San Francisco. Before last week, Kaepernick has posted 23 or more points in three of four games including a 34.14 spot against the Dolphins in Miami. As the favorites, the 49ers should control the game flow a bit this week and that should lead to Kaepernick rushing the ball well and connecting for a few scores. At just $32, I love Kaepernick's upside in large entry GPP's.
Yahoo! Running Backs - Week 14 DFS Picks
David Johnson (at MIA, $40)
Johnson has been a fantasy force this season as he has averaged a staggering 24.9 FPPG. Compared to the next best flex options this week that's 3.3 more points than Ezekiel Elliott and 3.4 more points per game than Le'Veon Bell; who also happen to be the only other players at $40 this week. When you add in that Miami has allowed over 13o rushing yards per game this season (the third most in the league) Johnson becomes an even better option.
Frank Gore (vs HOU, $20)
Gore has been steady and reliable this season for much of the year and should be a high floor option again on Sunday against the Texans at home in Indianapolis. Averaging 12.7 FPPG this season Frank has managed to crack double digits in 75% of his games this season. In three of the four games where he failed to reach double digits he still notched 7.90, 8.40 and 9.80 points. I like Gore to eclipse 20 touches in a game that Indianapolis should be able to control and win. That would lead to double digit points and make Gore a solid fantasy value this week.
Yahoo! Wide Receivers - Week 14 DFS Picks
Odell Beckham Jr. (vs DAL, $36)
Beckham was a steal last week at $31 and I still like him a lot this week even though he's $5 more expensive. Beckham and the Giants will likely be trailing the Cowboys for some or most (all) of the game, and Dallas' 27th ranked pass defense will be susceptible to OBJ and his Spider-Man like abilities. With a high floor and a very high ceiling I like OBJ in both cash and GPP contests.
Steve Smith Sr. (at NE, $17)
Smith received 10 targets last week and has notched seven or more in four of his last five games. On Sunday, he'll face off with the Patriots in Foxboro and I believe there will be a good deal of targets coming his way as the Ravens attempt to hang in the game. While Smith is no longer much of a deep threat or YAC contributor it helps a lot that New England allows the most yards at the catch. It certainly doesn't hurt that Smith leads Baltimore in red-zone targets and has a solid 71% reception percentage; so he hauls in most of the passes that come his way. At $17, I love SSS' floor and his ceiling is pretty nice in what should be a good game flow for the veteran WR.
Yahoo! Tight End - Week 14 DFS Picks
Kyle Rudolph (at JAX, $14)
Rudolph was a fantasy darling at the outset of the season and has been reliable for much of the year as he's averaged nine points per week at TE. This week the Vikings face the Jaguars defense and although they are decent I expect a solid game from Kyle. This is because he's received eight or more targets in three of his last four games. This week, I expect another eight or more targets as the Vikings will surely attempt to methodically control the ball and the game. Because Blake Bortles will likely give them the ball back a couple of times after they punt; Minnesota's offense should have lots of opportunities. When you match those with talent it's usually a good combination in DFS.
Yahoo! Defense - Week 14 DFS Picks
Minnesota Vikings D/ST (at JAX, $21)
When it comes to defense and special teams I usually aim for a low priced option with a great matchup or a high priced option that appears to be a no-brainer. This week, I've opted for the latter as the Vikings head into sunny Jacksonville as a strong favorite against an error prone QB and a sketchy offensive unit. After posting three or fewer points in three of their last five games, the Vikings have managed a healthy eight and 20 points in their other two contests, and those were against Dallas and Arizona. This week, they should notch another big total against Blake Bortles and company as they should be leading or ahead for much of the game forcing Jacksonville into mistakes.
