ANALYSIS: It will always be a gamble, but with Marqise Lee's athleticism and agility, the dunk-down passes can net some serious results. In 23 games played prior to 2016, Lee had just 52 catches on 101 targets, 613 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 1 against Green Bay, it looked like the talented Lee would remain a wide receiver without a niche with a two-catch, 22-yard performance.
However, last week against San Diego, Lee had five receptions on seven targets for 75 yards. A lot of Blake Bortles' passing figures come in the fourth quarter, and while that may mean the outlier wide receiver statistics in Jacksonville are a bit volatile, it can't be ignored that the Jags tend to be down near the end of the game. If that's the case at all in the coming weeks, Lee could be a solid candidate to stockpile receptions.
