Analysis: What started out as a purely PPR play has evolved into something much more destructive. Theo Riddick finished the game against the Colts with 45 rushing yards, 63 receiving yards, a rushing TD, and a receiving TD. He received the second highest amount of carries, at seven, which is just five behind Ameer Abdullah. Riddick caught all five of the passes that were thrown to him, which exactly tied Abdullah. There were some key differences; Riddick averaged 6.4 YPC to Abdullah's 5.3, and averaged 12.6 YPR to Abdullah's 11.4. In 2015, Riddick averaged five receptions per game, so he was at least on everyone's radar as an elite PPR back. However, also last year, he averaged just 2.7 carries per game at a mediocre clip of 3.1 YPC. Riddick was also targeted twice in the red zone, which is a positive sign for those who think that his touchdowns were a little flukey. Matthew Stafford is still on fire, and Calvin Johnson is no longer In Detroit to haul in all of his targets. If Theo Riddick was a PPR play before, he is a PPR monster and a possibly elite overall RB in 2016.
