BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 15% of Fleaflicker Leagues
EXPERT ANALYSIS: He's still at it. Chances are you've heard about Ryan Schimpf's power, but here are some advanced stats that will drive that point home. Schimpf's .600 SLG would place him second in the majors behind just Big Papi, if he had enough at-bats to qualify. Technically, Gary Sanchez would be higher at .707, but his sample size is even smaller. His .367 ISO is a full 60 points above the league-leader, again Big Papi, and 69 more than Brian Dozier. Schimpf has 18 HR and 15 doubles in 215 at-bats since June 14th. Chances are, you could use that kind of power in your lineup. The downside, as expected, is a low average and high strikeout rate. Schimpf is a shining example of a true outcomes hitter, with a 30.1% K%, 13.1% BB% and 7% HR%. Schimpf has shown 20+ HR power each of the last four seasons at the minor league level and was on a similar pace before his call-up this year. At some point, his 20.7% HR/FB% rate will start to drop, but we've been saying that for several weeks now. If you need power, Schimpf won't disappoint.
