Welcome back for another day of DFS baseball. Saturday brings us a split slate with four afternoon games followed by an 11 game evening slate. There are a couple possible weather issues in Detroit and Chicago but it appears at this point that chance of precipitation during game time is under 50% for both cities. It will be something to monitor going into lineup lock for the main slate.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/27/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel. Once again we have a nice selection of ace pitchers and value plays giving us a ton of flexibility when constructing our lineups. Let's dig in!

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Detroit Tigers vs. Brett Oberholtzer (Angels)
The Tigers are in a terrific spot on Saturday to put up a ton of runs. They are big home favorites(-220) and projected to score around 5.5 runs which is the highest team total of the entire day. They sit in the middle of the league against left handed pitching but come in red hot over the past week with a .361 wOBA and 128 wRC+. The Angels will turn to Brett Oberholtzer in his first start of the season. He has been disappointing out of the bullpen with a 4.81 xFIP while walking three and a half batters per nine innings. The top options for the Tigers against southpaws are J.D. Martinez, Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and Ian Kinsler. You can also get some value from James McCann who has a .366 wOBA and 130 wRC+ vs. left handed pitching.
Washington Nationals vs. Jorge De La Rosa (Rockies)
The Nats bats are really starting to come together all at the same time. Once struggling Bryce Harper is now red hot with multiple hits in four straight and six of his last seven games. Trea Turner has brought a huge spark to the lead off spot slashing .353/.364/.588 in August and Daniel Murphy is one of the leading candidates for the National League MVP. As a team they, have put up a .356 wOBA and 120 wRC+ over the last seven days and get a great matchup vs. Jorge De La Rosa this afternoon. With Coors Field as his home park it is almost hard to believe he has been worse on the road with a 5.40 ERA and allowing opponents . 298 batting average.
Also Consider - Houston Astros vs. Blake Snell (Rays)
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Noah Syndergaard (SP,NYM) $10,800
He is far and above the top option at the position today. The Mets are heavy -240 favorites at home while the Phillies come in with one of the lowest projected team total's(2.65) of the season. Thor has been elite this season with a 10.76 K/9 rate and 2.59 xFIP and has also generated over 50% ground balls. He should have no problem continuing his domination as the Phillies rank 28th in wOBA against right handed pitching with a 21.8% strikeout rate. Thor is safe in all formats.
Marcus Stroman (SP, TOR) $8,200
If it's salary relief you are looking for, take shot with Marcus Stroman today. He has been red hot since July 20th and is a great option in any format. With the help of an improved slider he has dominated the competition with a 10.49 K/9 rate, elite 62.5% ground ball rate which has produced a very low 2.22 xFIP. Look for him to continue hot streak against the Twins who have been ice cold over the last 14 days with a 28th ranked wOBA and wRC+ overall.
Also Consider - Jason Hammel (SP, CHC) $8,100
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
James McCann (C, DET) $2,900
A very nice salary relief option today in a great spot to crush his value. McCann has not only been hot lately(hits in five straight), but he has strong splits vs. left handed pitching with a .366 wOBA and 130 wRC+ for the season. He is safe in all formats vs. Brett Oberholtzer.
Chris Davis (1B, BAL) $3,500
Crush Davis doesn't exactly make the safe list with his 33% strikeout rate but he makes a great high upside tournament play today. Over the last 10 days he has recorded a hit in eight of 10 starts including six home runs, seven RBI and nine runs scored. He gets a great matchup today in Yankee stadium which caters to left handed power.
Neil Walker (2B, NYM) $3,400
Walker has been one of the hottest players at the position in August slashing .377/.427/.623 with five home runs a 185 wRC+. He has also experienced success vs. Hellickson with six career hits including a home run in 13 at bats. At his mid $3K price tag he is safe in all formats.
Tim Anderson (SS, CWS) $2,600
If you are not paying up for the elite players at the position today, Tim Anderson makes perfect sense at a big discount. In the mid $2K range he is definitely one of the top values at any position. He matches up against Ariel Miranda today and has strong splits against left handed pitching with a .372 wOBA and .163 isolated power number.
Jedd Gyorko (3B, STL) $3,100
Another very affordable option in the infield who has been tearing it up lately. He has recorded a hit in 12 of his last 16 games and now has eight home runs for the month of August. He may not be a perfect cash game play but provides a huge amount of upside for tournaments.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Bryce Harper (OF, WSH) $3,700
It doesn't quite make sense what is going on with Harper's salary. He has clearly snapped out of his slump with multiple hits in four straight and six of his last seven games but the salary has again dropped. He gets an elite matchup vs. the Rockies and while he faces a lefty in De La Rosa, you just can't ignore the low price on an elite talent like Harper.
Angel Pagan (OF, SF) $3,200
He makes an excellent play in any format today with a low $3K price tag and is coming in red hot. He has recorded a hit in all but one game in August while slashing an elite .341/.423/.506 with three home runs and four stolen bases. Ride the hot streak.
J.D. Martinez (OF, DET) $4,100
Another Tigers hitter in a great spot today vs. gas can Brett Oberholtzer. Martinez absolutely crushes left handed pitching with a .410 wOBA and .281 isolated power number. Since returning from the disabled list at the start of August he has returned as an elite hitter slashing .414/.452/.713 in 22 games this month.
