DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for DraftKings
Orioles versus Kendall Graveman
Graveman had a great July (2.68 ERA) but unfortunately all good things must come to an end. He's allowed multiple home runs in his past two outings including six runs over four innings last time out versus the Angels. The Orioles have 131 home runs versus RHP (best in MLB) along with a .795 OPS (2nd). I'm targeting Manny Machado, Chris Davis, and Pedro Alvarez tonight.
Twins versus Collin McHugh
McHugh has had a forgettable 2016, posting a 7-8 record and 4.73 ERA and is three home runs away from setting a career worst (20 HR allowed). The Twins have been climbing up the offensive leaderboards, led by Max Kepler and Eddie Rosario. No reason to jump off the train today.
Also Consider: Dodgers versus Zach Eflin
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings
Jose Fernandez (SP, MIA) - $10,800
JoFer is coming off rare consecutive losses and is looking to avoid losing three straight starts for the first time ever. Luckily for him he's back at home where he owns a 26-2 record and 1.62 ERA. Look for JoFer to get back on track tonight.
Michael Fulmer (SP, DET) - $8,900
Fulmer continues to excel in the Tigers rotation, limiting the White Sox to one run in 6.2 innings. The Mariners are a tough gig (.773 OPS is 7th in MLB). He limited the Mariners to one-run in 4.1 innings earlier this year and the Mariners aren't clicking on all cyclinders.
Cole Hamels (SP, TEX) - $8,200
Throwing a pitcher at Coors is not comforting, but Hamels has handled the thin air previously (3.21 ERA in 10 starts) and has been dealing since the All-Star break (1.59 ERA in four starts). Ownership should be low, making this a juicy value play (that could go horribly wrong).
DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings
Catcher (C)
Nick Hundley (C, COL) $3,000
Hundley has a .298/.349/.509 slash versus LHP and is at a bargain-rate for Coors exposure. Only downside is ownership will be high and he's stunk versus Hamels (2-for-15).
First Base (1B)
Mark Reynolds (1B, COL) - $3,300
Another L/R matchup at Coors that is too low in price. Reynolds has a .440/.462/.600 slash in August and has a .883 OPS at home this season.
Also Consider: Chris Davis (1B, BAL) - $3,400
Second Base (2B)
Jedd Gyorko (2B, STL) - $3,000
It's all about the matchups baby, not the Benjamin's. Gyorko has traditionally crushed LHP and gets the struggling Cody Reed tonight. Great spot at a below-market price.
Shortstop (SS)
Erick Aybar (SS, ATL) $3,200
If you pay up for JoFer you have to find value elsewhere and here is my recommendation. Aybar has played like a man auditioning for a trade, tearing it up in August (.364/.364/.591) and solidifying the No. 2 spot in the Atlanta lineup.
Third Base (3B)
Manny Machado (3B, BAL) - $4,100
Do I need to even put anything here? Machado had a 3 HR, 7 RBI outburst yesterday and he's not even in the top-five priciest 3B for today. Ownership will be high, but it's a great spot versus Graveman.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings
Billy Hamilton (OF, CIN) - $4,000
Hamilton has eight steals in six August games including a .300 average. If Hamilton is getting on base, he must be in DFS lineups.
Miguel Sano (OF, MIN) - $3,900
Sano is starting to come alive with three home runs in his past three games. He's 2-for-6 lifetime versus McHugh.
Giancarlo Stanton (OF, MIA) - $3,800
Normally I would fade Cueto but Stanton is 5-for-13 with two home runs off the tough righty, plus Stanton has two home runs already in August.
Also Consider: Brandon Moss (OF, STL) - $4,100 and Ender Inciarte (OF, ATL) - $3,700
