EXPERT ANALYSIS: In a season where they have struggled to compete within their division against the mighty Cubs and are fighting to keep their Wild Card streak alive, the Pirates are calling upon their farm system more than ever. This time, ballyhooed hitting prospect Josh Bell gets his chance. Bell was slashing .324/.407/.535 in 312 AB in Triple-A this season. His 13 HR have already matched a career high over five minor league seasons, but scouts believe he has the ability to grow into even more power as he matures. Bell has three at-bats since being called up and has already made quite the impression, launching a grand slam. How long he will stay up remains to be seen, but if he proves he can hit at the Major League level, he could have a great impact for fantasy owners in the second half. If you have an open roster spot in a deep league, you can stand to stash Bell right now and keep in a holding pattern until his immediate future is determined. Otherwise, keep an eye on Pittsburgh's transactions leading up to the trade deadline to see if John Jaso or another player is moved to clear way for Bell in the lineup.
