ANALYSIS: Make up your mind, Adam Conley! His starts this year have alternated between being brilliant and downright ugly this season. His latest start against the Tigers was of the latter variety, as he surrendered five runs in 4.1 IP, including two homers. The week before, Conley had pitched eight scoreless innings, scattering four hits. The one thing that remains constant is his strikeout numbers. Even in the aforementioned outing against Detroit, he managed to strike out nine in less than five innings. His 8.7 K/9 rate isn't astronomical, but deep league owners can surely benefit in that category by starting Conley. While he has pitched slightly better at home with a 3.29 ERA and 1.24 WHIP, compared to a 4.44 ERA and 1.46 WHIP on the road, there aren't any definitive splits that identify Conley's inconsistency. In other words, you're going to have to throw him out there and take the good with the bad. When it all evens out, Conley is delivering a sub-4.00 ERA and a strikeout per inning. If he can cut down on walks, Conley may continue to show improvement in his second big league season.
