Analysis: Throughout the start of the 2016 season there has been a chorus of skeptical voices saying "He can't keep this up. He can't keep this up." Nearly three months into the season, and the former Cy Young winner and six time All-Star CC Sabathia is tearing it up in the Bronx at the ripe age of 35; producing a 2.20 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 3.28 FIP, an increased 7.7 K/9, and an amazing 0.3 HR/9 considering how hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium is. After allowing line drives in 25% of opponent balls in play in 2015, Sabathia has lowered his rate to 21% line drives and that has improved his performance across the board. He is allowing just 0.7% Home Runs and 4.7% XBH for opponent plate appearances this season and an opponent slash line of .224/.315/.299. C.C. has increased his strikeout percentage from 18.9% to 20.4%, and his walk rate has gone up from 6.9% to 9.9%. This shows that C.C has stopped relying on his electric stuff that allowed him to dominate in the early 2000s and is now aiming for deadly locations in the strike zone. It's working, and he has again dominated the AL. Add Sabathia to your roster and cash in on his comeback.
