Happy Friday everyone. We've reached the end of the week and as a reward there's a full slate of games! Notable names taking the mound include Clayton Kershaw, Chris Sale, Gerrit Cole, and Matt Harvey. The streams are hard to find, but I provide a few that'll fit the bill.
In this article, I’ll be providing you with the top starting pitcher streamers for daily fantasy baseball (DFS) and for seasonal leagues for 6/10/16. These streamers will range from high-priced / high-ownership options to low-priced / low-ownership options, and will be sleepers and value picks for your cash games and GPPs on DraftKings and FanDuel, and also for seasonal leagues with daily lineups.
There'll be three main sections of this article: our Pitcher Matchups Tool’s top plays, my value plays, and pitchers to fade. I highly recommend you check out the Daily Pitcher Matchups Ratings tool - it's an extremely useful tool for daily fantasy or seasonal streaming for finding the diamonds in the rough. Anyways, let's get rowdy.
Daily Pitcher Matchup Ratings Tool Top Plays
Michael Wacha (SP, STL) at Pirates
Solid Stream
Wacha gets the solid stream label not so much for this matchup, but to reiterate that he should be owned. His ownership has fallen to 75% but I think there's value here. His ERA is rough (5.12) but the FIP (3.53) indicates he's pitched better than the stats show, not to mention his .343 BABIP this year (.288 career BABIP). The Pirates are a solid offense versus RHP (.776 OPS is sixth) so I'd sit Wacha in Roto, start in H2H.
Junior Guerra (SP, MIL) vs Mets
Solid Stream
Guerra is coming off a solid outing against Philadelphia (6 IP, 2 ER) and gets a Mets lineup that is hitting .230 versus RHP, 29th in baseball. His opponent Matt Harvey has looked better of late but on a day of limited plays he's a solid choice.
Max’s Value Plays of the Day
Anthony DeSclafani (SP, CIN) vs Athletics
Solid Sream
Similar to Wacha, DeSclafani gets the Solid Stream label to remind you to grab a share. He's coming off an oblique injury to make his 2016 and gets an Athletics team posting a .685 OPS versus RHP, 26th in baseball. He's only owned in 21% of Yahoo! leagues as of this post. I recommend 12+ team formats take a look.
Solid Stream
The plus: high strikeout potential versus a Padres team with a .646 OPS versus RHP, 29th in baseball. In his previous two matchups versus San Diego he has a 23/2 K/BB ratio. The minus: it's a game at Coors Field. My advice? Roll the dice on a game in Coors and take advantage of the strikeout potential. It's a nice DFS play too.
Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball
Gerrit Cole (SP, PIT) vs Cardinals
While Cole has a quality start in five of his past six games, he has not eclipsed five strikeouts in his past four starts. The low strikeouts combined with the Cardinals .824 OPS versus RHP (2nd overall) makes this an easy fade on DFS when Clayton Kershaw looms.
Patrick Corbin (SP, ARI) vs Marlins
Corbin pitched well last time out versus the Cubs, but don't let that fool you. Corbin has a 7.94 ERA at home this year and the Marlins have posted a .742 OPS (11th) versus LHP.
