Analysis: If you are one of the owners that has already taken a chance on Brandon Moss, chances are you aren't turned off by his .222 AVG, .316 OBP, or his 30.1% strikeout rate. What is most important? Moss is currently slugging .475 with seven home runs. Moss has been able to keep his promise of power with an isolated power figure of .253 and a GB/FB ratio of 0.49. When your HR/FB rate is 18.9%, currently more than 2.5x the MLB average, it tends to be beneficial to produce a high volume of fly balls. Also, with a BABIP of just .263, it would seem that Moss's poor BA and OBP could be slightly skewed by bad luck so far. Moss is also impressively slugging .562 against RHP this season and is also slugging .520 at home in St.Louis in what typically trends as a pitcher-friendly park. Moss is once again knocking it out of the park, both literally and figuratively, and his HR should not go to waste.
