MLB Hitter Cheat Sheet (5/6/16): Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Picks

Jacob Gibbs's MLB DFS hitters for 5/6/16 - daily fantasy baseball cheat sheet and lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings GPPs and cash games.

You don't need an expert to tell you to play Jose Abreu tonight against Ricky Nolasco. It is much more difficult, however, to sift through the cheap DFS options for the right value plays that can help you fit in the studs you want and put your lineup over the top.

That is the purpose of this article -- to provide you with the best value hitters available each day.

Today I'll be bringing you seven value hitters for MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball on FanDuel and DraftKings for May 6th, 2016. Let's get started!

DFS Hitters - Lineup Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings

1. Kyle Seager, 3B, Seattle Mariners

FanDuel Price: $3,600, DraftKings Price: $4,400

Seager has really warmed up after a slow start that was almost entirely the result of bad luck. Over his past eleven games, Seager has hit .317 with four home runs and 12 RBI. His advanced stats are even more enticing, as he has a .756 slugging percentage, .472 wOBA, .439 ISO, and 54.3 percent hard-hit rate during that time.

He should continue to rake tonight against right-hander Doug Fister. Fister had a 4.47 SIERA last season and struggled mightily against lefties. Seager has hit righties much better throughout his career.

The Mariners 4.3 implied run total is the fourth-highest on the slate, and Seager is the best dollar-for-dollar play at third base.

2. Jay Bruce, OF, Cincinnati Reds

FanDuel Price: $3,400, DraftKings Price: $4,100

Bruce hasn't been hitting for much of an average recently, but he has at least been hitting the ball hard, with an extra base hit in four of his past five games -- including a three-run home run last night.

Today, the Reds will face righty Tyler Cravy, who has a career 4.56 SIERA. The Reds are projected for a slate-leading 4.5 runs tonight and Bruce, who has crushed righties throughout his career, should be a big contributor to reaching that total.

3. David Peralta, OF, Arizona Diamondbacks

FanDuel Price: $2,900; DraftKings Price: $3,400

Peralta hasn't hit well lately, but a matchup with rooke right-hander Aaron Blair might be what he needs to get back on track. Blair has good stuff, but has given up a lot of fly-balls to start his MLB career.

Whether you believe Blair is a pitcher to attack or not, you can't deny that Peralta has absolutely crushed right-handers in his career. He has raised his slugging percentage from .333 against lefties to .527 against righties, while also raising his ISO from .113 to .212, his wOBA from .276 to .381, and his hard-hit rate from 28.4 percent to 34.1 percent.

He's a bit too risky for cash games tonight, but his upside makes him worth a look in tournaments at this price.

4. Joey Rickard, OF, Baltimore Orioles

FanDuel Price: $2,500, DraftKings Price: $3,100

Rickard has been a pleasant surprise as a Rule-5 pick for Baltimore, not only making the Major League roster, but sticking around as their leadoff hitter. Through 27 games, he has a .269 average with two homers, 7 RBI, and 11 runs.

His opponent today is left-hander Rich Hill, who posted a 4.15 SIERA last season and has allowed higher numbers across the board to right-handed batters throughout his career. Vegas projects Baltimore for the third-highest team total tonight and their leadoff hitter could certainly get you some cheap runs as part of the scoring barrage.

5. Alex Presley, OF, Milwaukee Brewers

FanDuel Price: $2,300, DraftKings Price: $2,000

Presley repaid all of those who rostered him once word came out that he would be hitting second for Milwaukee, going 2-for-4 with a home run.

He is again near-minimum price on both sites and will likely hit second again against weak right-hander Tim Adelman. Presley, a lefty, has hit righties better throughout his career. He's an excellent value play at this price.
