ANALYSIS: It's amazing what a change of scenery can do. Moving from the rarefied air of Colorado to sunny California has done wonders for Drew Pomeranz. He is continuing his success as a reliever/spot starter in Oakland on to this year in San Diego's rotation. In four starts, he has a 2.86 ERA and 31 strikeouts, good for 12th in the Majors right now. Wins may not be abundant, but if nothing else it's hard to ignore the strikeout rate (12.7) he has going. Career stats are misleading when analyzing Pomeranz. It is likely that he is finally pitching to his potential, especially now with the luxury of playing in a pitcher-friendly home ballpark. Pomeranz deserves attention in all but the shallowest of leagues.
