Devin Mesroraco has been all over the place in recent years. Even in a career year (2014) in which Mesoraco hit .273 with 25 home runs, 80 RBI, and an All Star Game appearance, he was only able to play in 114 games. Granted, capable backup Brayan Pena was on-hand to give him rest, but injuries did play a role in the amount of time Mesoraco spent on the field.
2015 started off great for Devin Mesoraco, who would receive a four-year deal worth $28 million. Just six months later, his season came to an end after needing surgery on his left hip.
Devin Mesoraco is one of the biggest question marks in fantasy baseball heading into the 2016. We saw an immense power surge in 2014, the first year of his career in which he hit double-digit home runs. There are all sorts of questions surrounding that left hip post-surgery, and there is no way to guarantee that something else may come about. The risks far outweigh the rewards and regardless of the outdated hype, I’m steering clear of Devin Mesoraco.
