DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice - NBA DFS Lineup Picks for 2/8/16

By Keith Allison [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Demetri highlights the top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 2/8/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings NBA DFS lineups.

Ten games make up Monday's card. Sacramento is playing again, in a back-to-back, which makes their matchup with Cleveland even more appealing. It's easy to want to pick Russell Westbrook or Kevin Durant against the Phoenix Suns, but will they play enough minutes to reach value for their high prices? Since there is a heavy slate tonight, it might be wiser to stay away from the big names above and round out your team with more $7,000-8,000 guys.

Tonight's lineup features plenty of value options, more players likely to pick on the Kings, and the actual King out of Cleveland.

Check out my Daily NBA picks for DraftKings, 2/8/16.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Kyrie Irving (vs SAC, $7,200)

Irving has been consistently posting over 30 fantasy points and should continue that type of production against the shoddy Sacramento Kings defense. Irving is one of three Cavaliers listed on this lineup, all for similar reasons. So to avoid bashing the Kings too much and repeating myself over and over, Irving has been scoring over 20 points regularly. Sacramento has given up the second most fantasy points to point guards this season.

Ish Smith (vs LAC, $7,100)

The Los Angeles Clippers are playing in their second game in two days, which is always appealing to pick against in Daily Fantasy. Smith will likely be pinned against Chris Paul, and the two should battle all night. Despite playing in back-to-back games, the Clippers should have no problem with the Philadelphia 76ers, where Smith could lead an attempted comeback and shoot often in a catchup game. Smith has not been crazy productive of late but is always a threat to put the ball in the hoop and tally plenty of assists and rebounds.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

J.R. Smith (vs SAC, $5,500)

The Kings have also given up the second most fantasy points to shooting guards this season. Basically, Sacramento can't defend guards. Smith is an affordable option that likes to shoot and shoot often. When hot, he can light up the scoreboard. Smith is also a steals threat, as he's posted two or more in four of six games. No matter the score or outcome here, Smith will be involved in Cleveland's offense and should be used in tournament and head-to-head play.

Kobe Bryant (at IND, $6,100)

I am one hundred percent on the Kobe Bryant bandwagon as it rides through the league in his last NBA season. Bryant has forever been a competitor and amidst some inconsistency and father time creeping into his career, he will want to go out the same way he entered the NBA. On top. Indiana gives up a lot of fantasy points to shooting guards as well. Kobe could very well battle with a younger, similar version of himself, Paul George. The Lakers have also been playing better of late, mainly in part to Kobe's play on the court. Los Angeles is likely headed for another offseason of questions, mainly how to fill the void of their franchise best, but if Kobe has anything to say about it, the team will not go down quietly. Kobe should be used in any format, continuously throughout the year.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (vs CHI, $5,400)

The Chicago Bulls have surrendered the most fantasy points to small forwards this season. Kidd-Gilchrist has produced nicely since returning from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for three months and has played near or well over 30 minutes a night. He is a consistent double-double threat and should be selected every night if his price remains as low as it is.

LeBron James (vs SAC, $9,800)

King James should take advantage of plenty Sacramento weaknesses. If there is one thing the Kings aren't bad at it's defending small forwards, but with the team playing on back-to-back nights, LeBron should have no problem producing against a Kings team that relinquish the most points per game a night. There's never a huge explanation needed for picking LeBron, but his price continues to teeter around $10,000, and he will need to hit 50 fantasy points to reach full value; a task easily done against Sacramento.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Thaddeus Young (vs DEN, $6,700)

The Denver Nuggets are another team that play two consecutive nights and will stay in New York another day to face the Brooklyn Nets. Thad Young should take advantage of Denver's likely lingering fatigue from the night before and is one of Brooklyn's main scorers, as he's posted double-digit scoring in nine of ten games. Young has his off nights like everyone else but is also a double-digit rebound threat that could lead to consistent double-doubles. Young is an affordable option, especially for GPP play.

Markieff Morris (vs OKC, $6,200)

Morris is good for over 30 minutes of court time a night and is still at a manageable price. Morris is one of few options on the Phoenix Suns that can break out, but despite his inconsistency in that department, he is still more than capable of tallying plenty of stats in each categories. The Suns are likely to continue to rely heavily on Morris as their season, already lost, will consist of showcasing their talent and riding the hot hand. The Suns will probably be in a catchup game against the dangerous Thunder, which will lead to plenty of production for Morris.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Spencer Hawes (vs CHI, $4,500)

With Al Jefferson continuing to miss time, and Cody Zeller's inconsistent play, Spencer Hawes will have plenty of opportunities to produce against the Bulls. Chicago has given up the second most fantasy points to centers this season. Hawes is an affordable option, $400 cheaper than Zeller, and has been sprinkling plenty of stats across the board. It seems that when Hawes plays more minutes, close to or over 30, his production increases. In two games in late January consisting of over 30 minutes played, Hawes broke out for 32.25 and 37.0 fantasy points. Zeller should be given a look as well, as both should be considered for GPP and head-to-head play.
