After missing the final two months of the 2014 season, many fantasy players got Paul Goldschmidt at a discount in their drafts. "Goldy" quickly put those injury concerns to bed in 2015, and was the number one fantasy hitter for a large portion of the season. For those fortunate enough to get first pick in their drafts, the decision will likely be between Trout, Harper, and Goldy. There are multiple reasons that suggest Goldschmidt is actually the safest pick of the three. Over his last four seasons, Goldschmidt has had at least 19 homers each year and over 30 in 2013 and 2015. He had over 100 RBI in 2013 and 2015, and he's hit over .300 each of the last three seasons. The cherry on top though? Steals. He stole 21 last season and in 2012 and 2013 he stole 18 and 15 respectively. Trout's numbers tend to fluctuate more, and he seems to be more hesitant on the basepaths; seeing his steals totals dip every year over the last three seasons. With Pollock and Peralta in front of him, and Tomas behind him, Goldy should be in for a strong 2016 campaign and will definitely be a good top pick in drafts.
