Week 16 Lineup Studs? Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyrod Taylor, Alex Smith

Ryan Fitzpatrick has quietly been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in fantasy football this season. Though he was originally brought in as more of a game manager, Fitzpatrick has shredded that label with a vengeance. He’s averaged nearly 24 fantasy points per game over the last month, and he’s found success by limiting the amount of turnovers.

Fitzpatrick has thrown 10 touchdowns and only one interception over his last four games, and he’s been one of the major reasons for the New York Jets still being in the AFC playoff picture. The Jets will host the almighty New England Patriots in their home finale on Sunday, and Fitzpatrick will look to match the 21-point performance he had against them in Week 7.

Tyrod Taylor has been a fantasy beast over the last month of the season by compiling 100 points over his last four games. Taylor has finally developed chemistry with wide receiver Sammy Watkins as the two connected for a pair of touchdowns against the Washington Redskins in Week 15 and a total of six touchdowns over the last four games.

Taylor has proven to be the most effective when the Bills have been able to extend the field, and they’ll look to do some more of that against the Dallas Cowboys. Like Fitzpatrick, Taylor has been extremely effective when it comes to limiting the turnovers. Since Week 9, Taylor has thrown 11 touchdowns and has only turned the ball over twice. With consistent production over the last four weeks, Taylor should be in good shape for another solid fantasy outing.

Alex Smith is never going to light up the scoreboard against any team, but anything is possible when you play the Cleveland Browns. Smith has been quiet on the fantasy front over his last two games by combining for just 26 fantasy points. However, the Browns have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, and the Chiefs still have hopes of winning the AFC West crown.

Smith has averaged more than 19 fantasy points per game over his last four home games, and he’s gotten the best of some quality defenses this year. The Browns do not possess a quality defense, and Kansas City’s offense has been on a tear over its eight-game winning streak.
