The Bears aren't winning games yet, but Jay Cutler is starting to show up on fantasy radars again. After missing a game with an injury, Jay Cutler has been a capable QB in his last four games. He's actually been consistent.
This season Jay Cutler has thrown for eight TDs and four INTs. In every game he has played he has thrown at least one TD, and never more than one INT. He has over 250 passing yards in three of the last four weeks and has at least 33 pass attempts in each of those games.
Under former head coach Marc Trestman, Cutler was a mercurial asset, either putting up tons of points or throwing too many picks. Under head coach John Fox and offensive coordinator Adam Gase, the Bears are a little more balanced with the run game. While the Matt Forte injury hurts the whole team, a healthy and productive Alshon Jeffery should open up more downfield passes.
This week Cutler is a particularly interesting option against the Chargers. Opposing QB Philip Rivers has been a fantasy monster this season, and there will probably be a lot of points scored in this game. With Carson Palmer and Russell Wilson on bye and a couple of tough match-ups out there, Cutler might be worth a spot-start if he's available.
