Dez Bryant Practices, Tony Romo Begins to Throw

There could finally be some good news coming out of Dallas, and good news for fantasy owners of All-Pro wide receiver, Dez Bryant. According to Dallas Morning News, Cowboys Vice President, Stephen Jones said his star receiver looked good in practice and is confident about his progress moving forward.

“It’s premature to say he’ll play, but he’s on target to play this weekend if this continues.” Bryant went down Week 1 against the New York Giants, fracturing a bone in his right foot; the first domino to fall in what seems like the never-ending spiraling plummet of the injury-ridden Dallas Cowboys offense.

Dez has mentioned that he could return even if he isn’t 100%, according to Dallas Morning News. If Dez is good to go this week, he is a no-brainer WR1. His return does come against the all-too-familiar Legion of Boom, undoubtedly one of the best secondary in the league, and a Seattle defense that has given up the fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

But even if he isn’t at full speed and strength, expect backup quarterback Matt Cassel to still target him often, as the Cowboys are in desperate need for an offensive spark to help them keep pace in a tight NFC East division. Keep an eye on his status over the next few days. Owners should have a better idea of his availability after today's practice.

While I’m sure no one has shed any Terrell Owens like tears over quarterback Tony Romo’s injury, fantasy owners have certainly felt his absence. Romo has begun throwing again and is eligible to return to practice on November 4th.

“He did a little throwing and did it very good, very comfortable,” Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, said, according to ESPN. “…The fact that he’s throwing without any attendant pain in the other shoulder is a very good sign.” Romo broke his collarbone Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He would also be eligible to play Week 11, the return date he is aiming for.

Week 11 seems like a while but it’s already almost November. The season is moving quickly and time has certainly done well for Romo. Whether the Cowboys can pick up wins in his absence, Romo’s return will be an important asset, especially to playoff bound fantasy owners or owners vying for a playoff spot. Like with his favorite target Bryant, keep an eye on the progress Romo continues to make.

The Cowboys head to Miami Week 11 and Romo’s famous smile could very well shine bright in South Beach.
