Kamar Aiken (WR, BAL) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 26% of Fleaflicker Leagues

ANALYSIS: With Breshad Perriman out indefinitely with his PCL injury requiring more rehabilitation, Aiken is in line to continue seeing snaps for Baltimore. He is still lining up as the primary #2 receiver for the Ravens after Steve Smith returned to action, playing on 54 of 66 snaps against the Cardinals on Monday night. Aiken is not an elite talent out there, but he's talented enough to convert additional targets into production that you're going to want to take advantage of in deeper leagues. He was shut down in Monday night’s game, only seeing three targets and catching one of them for six yards. However, in the three weeks before that he had put up at least 7.8 points in each game. Opportunity is still a sizable part of the equation for fantasy production. It's unfortunate that he really can’t do more with the looks that have come his way in past weeks, but Aiken can be a solid fill in option for owners who need wide receiver help.

The Ravens will face the Chargers next week before their bye, and San Diego has proven that they can barely stop anything. While Aiken isn’t the sexiest name on the waiver wire, and he does have the potential to put up a bagel (as evidenced by the Ravens’ first, third, and most recent game), but wide receivers don’t grow on trees (or do they?) and those of you in deeper leagues should definitely consider rostering Aiken. It’ll be hard to hold him during the Ravens’ bye week, as he’s probably going to be the most expendable name for many fantasy owners if there’s another pickup that you want to make, but he does get a tasty home matchup against Jacksonville in Week 10. For what it’s worth, his playoff matchups (typically Weeks 15 and 16 for owners) are against Kansas City and Pittsburgh, who have two very beatable secondaries. Food for thought.
