The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. Jeffery has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury that has caused him to miss his last four games. Jeffery did appear in the season opener, catching five balls for 78 yards against the Green Bay Packers.
The injury has surely been frustrating for fantasy owners who envisioned Jeffery having a huge year with former number one wide receiver Brandon Marshall now with the New York Jets. If Jeffery can stay healthy, expect him to be a very valuable player moving forward. The Chicago Bears have struggled this season and have been plagued with injuries. With Jeffery back, the Bears now have a deep threat and a spark on the offensive side of the ball.
I would play Jeffery today if you own him. He has a great matchup today against a weak Lions secondary. It might take Jeffery a little while to get back into mid-season form, but his owners should feel confident playing him as long as he's healthy.
