Superstar wide receiver Julio Jones has admitted to being unsure of his availability to play for the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. The Falcons have a tremendous matchup against the New Orleans Saints defense that would make Jones among the best wide receiver options this week if he can give it a go. Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury and is being listed as questionable for Week 6.
Jones plans suiting up and stated he’s feeling better every day but showed his uncertainty with the short week of rest and recovery time. We’re entering the dreaded “game-time decision” territory of not knowing Jones’ status until a few hours before kick-off. Luckily, the Thursday game taking place before every other game this week will give more than enough time to make a wise decision.
Let’s be honest. As long as Jones is active, you’re not benching him. Julio Jones at 50% strength is still better than 85% of wide receivers in the NFL. You have an embarrassment of riches on your team if you can realistically remove Jones from your lineup. The Falcons stud has a history of great games against the Saints and that will continue if he’s feeling well enough to play on Thursday.
