Gary Barnidge Explodes Again, Has Emerged As Legit TE1

For the 3rd week in a row, Gary Barnidge has posted solid fantasy football stat lines. During that time, Gary Barnidge has had 26 targets, 20 catches, three touchdowns, and receiving 319 yards.

It is very clear that while Josh McCown is the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, Barnidge will continue to get targets. Coming into Week 5, Barnidge was ranked 14th in passing targets - but he is likely to creep up into the top 10 after receiving 10 more targets this week.

Looking at the Browns upcoming schedule, Barnidge will be facing tough defenses (Denver and Arizona) who defend well against opposing tight ends. But regardless of those tough matchups, I expect that McCown will continue to look for Barnidge.

If you are in a PPR league and Barnidge is still available, he is a must add this week. If you are in a standard league, there still is value in picking up Barnidge given the amount of volume and touchdown potential he's shown the past three weeks. At this point I'd call Barnidge a low-end TE1 moving forward, with upside for more.
