Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart has always had a knack for showing up on the injury reports and this season is certainly no different. Stewart is currently dealing with a knee injury that has put his status for week 4 in doubt.
The Panthers are reportedly taking a "wait and see" approach on Stewart, who would be a must-start if healthy enough to play against the weak Bucs defense.
If Stewart can't go, the Panthers will likely use a running back by committee led by Fozzy Whittaker, Cameron Artis-Payne and Mike Tolbert. A running back by committee is never a good thing when it comes to fantasy football. If Stewart plays, definitely start him. But if Stewart doesn't play, trying to guess which running back will see the most carries for Carolina is like playing Russian Roulette - avoid it if at all possible.
If you can't resist the temptation to start a Panthers running back if Stewart is ruled out, cross your fingers and go with Artis-Payne.
