Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin suffered a knee injury at practice on Wednesday which kept him out of practice on Thursday. Head coach Lovie Smith said Martin is expected to be OK and return to practice on Friday, but this is definitely something worth keeping an eye on.
Martin has yet to run away with the Bucs starting running back job, so the injury will serve as an excuse for Smith to give more playing time to Charles Sims, who has already been receiving a lot of playing time in passing situations.
With this latest injury news, and the fact that the Bucs are playing a tough Carolina Panthers defense in week 4, Martin is a very risky fantasy option. Try to stay away from both Martin and Sims this week if at all possible.
It could be a very long game for the entire Bucs offense on Sunday.
