ANALYSIS: Week 2 will almost certainly be the last time DeAngelo Williams holds any value once the incumbent starter Le'Veon Bell returns from his two-game suspension. With that being said, Williams was a monster Week 1 against the New England Patriots, rushing for 127 yards on 27 attempts and adding a five-yard reception. He was essentially one touchdown away from an elite fantasy performance. Most importantly, Williams was the only running back from Week 1 who was without a handcuff - that is, he was the only back who received all of the carries for his team from the backfield. Even Marshawn Lynch had to cede a few touches now and then. Unless the coaching staff in Pittsburgh suddenly finds confidence in third-stringer Dri Archer, that figure is unlikely to change in Week 2. Though Williams will only hold value for one more week, barring injury to Bell, he's more than worthy of a waiver wire pickup to help earn a sneaky victory next week. The Steelers host the 49ers on Sunday afternoon. Although San Francisco put up a strong defensive performance against Minnesota on Monday night, it is crucial to remember that its defensive personnel is a shell of what it has been in years past. Look for Williams to continue his strong performance on extended rest and for the niners defense to show its true colors in Week 2.
